Block 5-Sukey's Corner

Ok, here's the 5th installment. It's called Sukey's Corner...

Here's the back of the block:

Notes concerning this block:

1. You were given enough green fabric to fussy cut the middle block.

2. The corners can be cut as indicated in the pattern using triangle 13 and as demonstrated by Helen. Remember, this is the plaid fabric and she had her triangle template marked to match the stripe she wanted. Or, you can just by pass this step and cut 2 1/2" squares. If you do the corners as instructed, you will need to press carefully. Here's the pressing for your reference....

3. You will be cutting 8 rectangles from rectangle template #25 of the background fabric. You will use triangle template 11 and lay on the rectangle but only trim off one end. Be sure and put two rectangles at a time together (right sides together) to make your pair. (Just like a sleeve pattern - left and right side, ok?)
The instructions refer to this as a modified 25-G rectangle.

Ok, there it is, I hope these pictures and tips help you. This quilt is coming together and I'm getting excited. I love this fabric. Don't forget to pick up your border fabric and your finishing kits. Have fun and happy sewing....
